My wife and I first met Doreen when we were all in Malta in 2009.
We met again in Rome. London and Edinburgh in subsequent years. Being with Doreen was always such fun. She was a delight to be around, slightly eccentric for sure but she always made us laugh.
Life became very difficult for her when illness came upon her but our memories of our time with Doreen although limited as we lived so far away in Australia is something that we always will treasure.
One of Doreen's special qualities was her kindness, both to her family and to friends that she cared about. It is something that will stay with me and when I think of this beautiful person, I will know for sure that my life was all the richer for meeting her.
